Challenge
In 1992, at young man passed away from leukemia at the age of 24. William Kelly passed away from leukemia. The following summer, three of his friends hiked all 2500 miles of the Appalachian Trail and raised money in his honor. And so Trail to a Cure was born, as a way to raise money for the Leukemia Society. But in order to make an even larger impact in both awareness and fundraising, Trail to a Cure needed some help.

Solution
We created a website to get the word about Trail to a Cure out there, knowing that a site was the best way to unite all participants together into one community. It is also a medium that can be viewed by anyone who wants to visit—from curious individuals and the hikers themselves to family, friends, and even potential donors. Just a few clicks and you can find out everything about the event, see how much money was raised, and even donate to the cause.

Results
Since the inception of Trail to a Cure, more than $650,000 has been raised for the Leukemia Society of America. The best part is that the event itself doesn’t require a manager—everything can be done through our site. It also doesn’t equipment rentals or other fees, so that all the money raised can do directly for research and patient care. Thanks to the support of many faithful individual and corporate sponsors, Trail to a Cure is now the single largest fundraiser for the Massachusetts Chapter of the Leukemia Society of America.
